I can't pretend to be a gentleman:
"I want a gentleman to love me," you tell me carelessly.
I just laugh. Gentlemen may open the door for you but I can open the world for you.
Run through the parking lot with me and we'll play cops and robbers together. Climb to the top of the water tower with me and we'll watch the stars together. Drive past the turn that leads home and we'll speed towards nothing and everything together. Jump off this cliff with me and we'll fall into the water together.
You say you want a gentleman but, darling, I'm in love with you.
